The MJ Tights (think about 1995)

I was literally just surfing the blogospere when I found the amazing Girl With The Flower! How could I not know about her?? Anyway she linked an online store called Sock Theory . I fell in love with these tights and the endless possibilities that go along with them. Is it just me, or don't they remind you of those black and white, Italian cookies, that always look better than they taste? Whatever. Back to hiding under the duvet, in front of Criminal Minds ;-) .

2 am and she calls me 'cuz I'm still awake, "can you help me unravel my lastest mistake?"

After so many Sundays of just lying in bed ‘till lunch, dreading the start of school twenty hours later, and half heartedly doing homework, a productive day like this one feels very foreign. I flat ironed my hair which always boosts my dwindling daily level of self esteem, and I even ventured to TJ Maxx and got some goodies (Tommy Hilfiger suitcase for my trip to Paris this summer, and so denim booty shorts. Oh, yeah, I also did some homework.

Dress: Old Navy
Cami: Target
Shoes: Prada Sport (btw I’ve been wearing these a lot lately, but these are not the only shoes I own :-P )

Thank you so, so much for visiting! Lets all have a great education tomorrow. ughh.

IHY (not ILY, please get it right.)

I have been so stressed this week. I have even taken to screaming at inanimate objects such as my netbook, camera, and printer. Also my purple high tops. Ill give you a dolla if you tell them Scandalously Pink sent you :-).

Summer Reading Wish List

Today I figured out, that this summer I am going on seven plane rides. Now, I could easily entertain myself by eating my own body weight in peanuts, or kicking the seat in front of me. But, I really want to catch up on some non-school related and interesting reading.
(These are all available on Amazon.com and I am not being paid my anyone)

Classy: Exceptional Advice for the Extremely Modern Lady
By David Blasberg

It caught my eye in Teen Vogue, with the catty but refreshingly honest comparison between a tramp and a lady at the airport.

The Serial Killer Files: The Who, What, Where, How, and Why of the World's Most Terrifying Murderers

By Harold Schechter

If You Have to Cry, Go Outside: And Other Things Your Mother Never Told You
By Kelly Cutrone

That infamous quote is probably my status on Facebook at least once a week. I also love Kelly because she yelled at Whitney on The Hills.

Official Book Club Selection: A Memoir According to Kathy Griffin
By Kathy Griffin

She is so funny! Plus, I did some digging and apparently she damaged various celeb reputation’s so much, that many representatives wanted to ban it.

Criminal Psychology: A Beginner's Guide, 2nd Edition
By Ray Bull

Upper Class by Society, White Trash by Reality

I finally got my net book in the mail today! It is the HP mini 210, if anyone wants a review :-)
Anyway, this week has been uncharacteristically swell. Reports card did not make my parents go all Mo’nique in Precious. Oh, and I was ecstatic to see that my yearbook picture looks a lot more acceptable in the 3 by 3, than in the original poster size. We also got Friday off from school.

I am so, so sorry for this BS of a post, but I NEED to clear some stuff up.
· I filled out this form thing and sent it to my camera manufacturer. If the universe is on my side, a new camera should be on my doorstep in the next two weeks.
· I entered and won a poetry slam at my school and the prize was a video camera! Trying to figure out how to make the still pictures as HD as the video. I will be using that, until my real camera comes.
· I am having recurring stress episodes over all of this. And the fact that I have been extremely slack on Scandalously Pink. That is going to change. “Haven’t you said that before!!??” Yes, But now that I have a temporary camera (Although it does not have a self timer. Ugghhh, I guess that means I will have to talk to other human beings L) and a reformed sense of self discipline (starting now!) and so much inspiration it would flood Liechtenstein.

So, today is “Bring Your Kid to Work Day” which means I will be playing hookie- err, spending quality time with my father. Yep, the second one…

Have an amazing day/afternoon/morning/month/year/birthday/flight beauties!

Like a True Southern Girl...

I cannot get to sleep, so I am doing a much needed update. I feel like such a jerk right now! The "1 post every 3 days" promise is not going well. I am going to change it to at least three posts a week, if thats a'ight.

So, my camera is broken right now and I am so stressed out! I hate this week so far. Last week wasn't much better but I did really enjoy the NYT thursday styles. Now, I usually only sit down and read word for word the Sunday Styles. I find that the Thursday Styles is not so much "Style" related at all. But last week's didn't disappoint.

As a true southern girl, I love Lily Pulitzer. People sometimes associate it with only smock dresses for over privileged baby's, or some crap like that. I really, really like the shift dresses, and the strapless tea dresses.

Here is a link to the wonderful story: http://www.nytimes.com/2010/04/08/fashion/08CRITIC.html

Inspired by that, here is an uncharacteristically, interesting outfit I wore a few days ago.

My mom is taking my baby (camera) to the genius's at Radio Shack tomorrow. Any other idea's?

Love ya :-)

Successful Spring Break '10

I am very much enjoying spring break. I have not used the Internet for like a week, because I have just now discovered how to set up the wifi at my beach house. I rented a surprisingly comfortable bike, and have been traveling for literally miles on on end listening to Evanescence's "bring me to life" on repeat. Anyways, the beach was so fantastic today. I taught my dog, charlie how to swim, tanned a lil', and read my current chick lit' of choice: The Clique series (I bought a pretty hardcore book yesterday so Ill read that next. I try to switch off between trash and serious, even avant garde stuff.)

I went into Beaufort yesterday for lunch, bookstore, and of course thrifting, with my fantastic grandma. I got the basics: high waisted brown shorts, with a bow belt from J Crew, and A yellow sweater with a coolly cut collar, and gold button detailing on the sleeves.

This display totally reminded me of the Vogue 2 months ago with Rachel Mcadams, where they had the Blazer covered with broaches with price tags still on.

This is really random, but I just really liked this picture I took of the lemonade, lol

Very boring day so far. I have always felt that it is one of the worst feelings in the world, waking up in an outrageously messy and dirty room. Mom will be running in here, any second telling me to chop to it. Anyway I really like my outfit today. The only thing thing is the run in my tights and the bad lighting. Enjoy?

Top: Target

Shorts: Zara

Tights: IDK!!

Flats: Got 'em yesterday from American Eagle

Bag: Vintage DKNY (also got yesterday)

Yes. I understand that this is my second post taking place in Disney. It was the most eventful thing to happen so far in my spring break, and I am not going to lie. I had a blast. :-)

We headed over to Downtown Disney for some good ol' shopping. I am not a huge fan of mickey head, rhinestone encrusted, pleather beach bags. But the decor in the stores were immoderately inspiring.

"Why do children have eating disorders, again?"

Amazing lunch and dessert at Wolfgang Puck.

I know that I personally hate when the bloggers I follow repeatedly apologize for their less than exceptional posts, but I still say that I am sorry. The rest to come will be immacuetly better. I swear on my phone's remaining battery. (multiply that figure by 17, actually)

Anyway I am really going to push myself to do at least one post every three days, because my inadequateness is getting ridiculous.

Tomorrow I have a gig editing a video for a bar mitzvah and basically just need to pack up my stuff for vacation. Camping on Wednesday and the rest at the beach house in SC. (Guess which one I am looking forward to more. Not camping.)

Have a fab night, and see you in 3!

A thrifty phase for me?

I have never, ever considered myself a thrift store consumer. It is definitely not that I have considered myself above it, or anything like that! I was just well. I don't know. It's like the time my cousin sent me this amazing mix cd, full of fantastic but not yet household name, indie artists. Everyone was telling me how cultured and elite I was for compiling all the songs. But it wasn't me.. Jesus, that does not make any sense. Whatsoever. Bottom line, I was not a thriftier. That is until I took a day trip down to Ybor City and fell in love. I guess I had stereotyped second hand stores as a bunch of Walmart hand-me-downs reeking of cigarettes.
So long story, short (too late) A fantastical clothing trade and exchange store opened downtown a few weeks ago. Like Plato's Closet, but independent. Today I brought literally 10 pounds of mothball gathering pieces and got 37 big ones in store credit.

I got:

1. A skinny belt with neon blue studs
2. An oversize, peachy, vest thing with a bow
3. A cute lil' Roxy dress

I am very apologetic for the crappy, webcam quality of this outfit I put together. I am currently uploading every single photo on my camera to clear up space. As of.. 8:03 PM, we have 572 pics remaining :-(

This Is what I could manage in a smidge.

1. White tee= Ann Taylor
2. New vest thingy= vintage
3.Vintage heels
4. New Target denim, leggings

BTS at a Fashion Shoot

My week has been so hectic! Testing, appointments, dog is having flatulence issues..(btw I am not resorting to nickelodeon-y humor, I am dead serious.) But my short visit to the shoot Wednesday was a nice break from my schmuck.

So basically the the intended feeling was supposed to be freeee, modern fairy tail, flirty but still appropriate. (hows that for a sum up) The creative designer even ordered a bunch of candy all the way from Dylans Candy Bar, for the models to play with for a childish vibe. But, of course the weather was retched that week, so plan B substituted. They came up with a great decoupage looking, threefold thing for the background.

The candy would've just looked forced so that will be another time..PS Special thanks to staff who donate a Dylan lollypop to me. Is that pathetic that I am still excited about that?

Anyway, here are some "Behind the Scenes Pics"..

The set

"Closer you say?"

(Starting at the bracelet and going down)

1. Betsey johnson costume jewelry

2. about 1/72 of the makeup table. I (aka Einstein) did not charge my camera for a sufficient amount of time but there was mainly Mac, Coastal Scents, Chanel, and other random british brands I had never heard of.

4. BCBG heels next to some not pictures Jimmy Choo sandals.

5. Saks all the way girl!

6. This SUITCASE was reserved for hair stuff only.

The model was gorgeus and had some of the highest, vogue destined, cheekbones ever.

Over all I had a really fun time. The trip fueld my determination to work in the world of fashion even more.. Even if I have to start small. :-)

Testing is making me boring!!!!!

I had an extremely urn-glamourous day today. After school (This week is the dreaded standardized testing week. Here, it is FCAT.) I just lolled around my room listening to Pandora on my ipod touch, watched some NBC reruns, and well. Lolled.

After that adrenaline rush of typing that paragraph, here is some actual exciting news.

Tomorrow I will be sitting in on a real fashion shoot for my city's local "luxury women's magazine" . The clothes will be from Dillards, Saks, and two other local boutiques. My memory card will be bursting by the time I leave the location! Pictures from that soon.

Here is the outfit I ended up wearing tonight out to my dad's birthday dinner.

(BTW I apologize for the retched quality. I was literally walking out the door to the restaurant.)

In the Tiffany museum so pjotography was allowed, but let me tell ya that ya'll were not missing ANYTHING. No offense to anyone but those vases and windows were hideous. Mom over Manolos?

This is going to be quick. I hope. Anyway, so I went to see wicked last night. It was preeetttyy good, and I couldnt take my eyes off Glinda's dresses and white patent heels. But something happened before the show that really upset me.
So I have a relationship with my mother, like anyone elsee. But we always get in arguments over clothes and beuaty and all that kinda crap.
She says target, I say topshop
I say givenchy, she says covergirl is just as good.
it isnt like we cant afford that stuff a few times a month. God, I am just reading this over, and i sound like such a frikkin spoiled brat. Dont get me wrong, I ADORE forever 21, wet seal, all those kind of mall stuff. I just wish she would understand that most mfashion just cant be duped with polyester, plastic and purple pants from aeropostale. She just doesnt want to understand fashion. And I get defensive when she comments on my makeup, or clothes. It turns into a huge mess. Sometimes I wish my mom was like on of "the real housewives"
But I dont mean it.

I love you soo much mom. I wouldnt trade you for anything. But I love my mom AND marc jacobs. Please just let me do my thing. :-)

ILY!

Um yes older woman across the street glaring at me. I DO know that this dress would not be appropriate to wear in your original time period.

Last Sunday I had a fantastic time at this little, mini photo-shoot I set up. I just went to this random house whom belongs to one of my mother's friends. ( I had never heard of her in my life. Time to put mommy in a home?) I loved that looks that the speed walkers gave me.

"Aww look at that girl with no friends, taking pictures of herself. Betsy, I told you narcissism is a disease!"

"Come on darling, that girl might try to sell us her soul!"

(staring at the tripod) "Dear god, that would be a rifle stand."

Here is what I got back.

Currently Obsessed with/Inspired by....

I just got back from the premier of Dear John, with some friends. Not trying to be rude or anything, but all of Channing Tatum's characters seem to have that whole brawns over brains thing going on. Coincidence? I think not. As for the gorgues Amanda Seyfried, she has grown so much since Regina's cousin-kissing, ESPN, minion. But overall, don't waste seven bucks on one raunchy makeup scene and lots of "artsy" closeups of coins.
Anyway, I have been really pushing myself lately to be more myself style-wise. Y'know, break that whole AF, AE chain of wannabe Ashlee Tisdale middle schoolers. Here are a few things that have caught my attention.

Colored RayBans

So cute with asian-worthy straightened hair, and skinny jeans. By the way I am a SLAVE to this brand. Cheaper than Chanel, pricier than Claires = Count me in.

Red Eyeshadow

This is obviously from the Luella 2010 ready-to-wear show. Duh you idiots who didn't know that. Totally joking, I am honestly just getting into Luella. Love the patterned dresses.
Anywhooo, back to the shadow. I wouldn't be alowd to go in front of my window, much less go to school like this. I would probably keep it only on my lid. Do a clear coat of mascara and light brown, extremely subtle eye pencil. My goal is to not look like a slutty anime character from a cancelled Yuh-Go-Oh ( How do you spell that??!!) spin-off series.

Preppy, Granny, Oxford Flats

Urban Outfitters has the most lovely things on this earth. Maybe pair these with a vintage, band tee and an old pair of AF mini shorts? Or is that a little too Demi Lovato and Taylor Swift-ey? What the heck is with me and the celeb bashing today?

Hope you guys have a good day. Also, here is a random question that I am begging you to answer:
What DRY SHAMPOO is the best out there? The Trade Secret girl was clueless. Comment below and I will love you forever.
